Today, a handful of Hallmark students and I will be going to the Franklin Country fairgrounds to document the 24 hour long Relay For Life starting this afternoon. I am extremely excited to be given the oppurtunity to photograph this deeply emotional weekend.
One of the events I was specifially assigned to photograph is the Survivor’s Ceremony where survivors of cancer gather together. I have always participated in Relay for Life events in my town and I am happy to be serving Franklin county with my friends and fellow photographers. It’s so awesome to see tons of supporters and survivors for this cause, it’s truly touching and I am blessed to be doing what I am doing and also be thankful for the health that I am in. Our group’s photos will be put together after the event in a slideshow to music and be shown at next year’s Relay for Life. This year our group will be making a “Purple couch video”, which will include small interviews of people that are participating in the walk talking about what Relay means to them while they sit on the “purple couch”.
